The organisation

Based in Melbourne’s CBD fringe, City West Water provides world-class clean drinking water and sewerage services to over 1 million customers and 40,000 businesses in Melbourne’s CBD and the growing western suburbs.

We are proud to serve the city that has been awarded world’s most liveable time and time again, and are working hard to support our customers through the challenges of population growth and a changing climate.

We are creating an organisation that is as vibrant and diverse as the community we serve, as we recognise that our people are our greatest asset.

The opportunity

This position ensures City West Water has a risk based system approach in place to manage risks to drinking water and recycled water quality that delivers exceptional services to our customers and benefits the community. This will be achieved by leading, implementing and monitoring the management systems performance for City West Water’s drinking water and recycled water schemes. It ensures that risk is responsibly managed and regulatory standards are met or exceeded.

Reporting to the Product Quality Team Leader, the position will provide technical, auditing, reporting and facilitation skills to City West Water employees responsible for the production, delivery and continuous systems improvement of City West Water’s HACCP certified drinking water and recycled water systems.

  • Exceptional communications skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to negotiate effectively at all levels within and outside the organisation
  • Well-developed analytical, research and conceptual skills
  • Strong program and project management skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in chemistry, applied science or chemical/environmental engineering

Whilst not essential, a Certificate in Food Safety Management System (ISO2200 or HACCP) will be looked upon favourably.

What we offer in return:

  • An attractive and competitive remuneration package
  • Flexible working arrangements, including Work Life Balance and leave options
  • A focus on wellbeing (health insurance, flu vaccinations, skin checks)
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program
  • Salary Continuance and Life Insurance
  • Commuter Club-discounted Myki
  • A centrally located office in vibrant Footscray, just 10 minute drive, or two train stops, from Melbourne’s CBD.
