Salary from $122,664 up to $144,492 per annum plus superannuation
and an option of a motor vehicle equalisation allowance or a lease for private use of a motor vehicle
A 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance may also apply

The Position

Wollongong City Council is investing in our largest ever capital works program and are excited to be offering an opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Transport, Asset and Stormwater Manager. Leading a large team, you will apply your leadership skills and extensive experience to deliver the effective development, planning, management, operation and maintenance of Council's transport and stormwater asset strategies and programs.

This position is also responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing integrated strategies and investment priorities for asset operation and maintenance access and movement across the LGA.
  • Plan and develop capital and maintenance programs as outlined in the Infrastructure Delivery Program (IDP)
  • Development and planning of assets to support service provision.
  • High level and volume interface with the community, Councillors and the Executive
  • Providing collaborative leadership and direction to develop a high performing, customer focused culture.
  • Development of Business Proposals for projects and resourcing

 

Your success in this role will be demonstrated through your ability to lead strategically, whilst understanding the impact of asset investment decisions along with your ability to drive best practice solutions ensuring a high level of customer responsiveness and interface. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage across all levels of the business and community. You will also have good emotional intelligence with demonstrated experience people management skills with the ability to coach and develop individuals and teams. This is a high volume role with great breadth across Councils assets, we will be looking for demonstrated experience in prioritisation of planned and emergent work.
