Under limited guidance, you will undertake research and development (R&D) in Radio Frequency (RF) and digital components applicable to High Frequency (HF) radar.
As part of a highly motivated team you will develop new and enhanced equipment for Australia’s world leading HF radar program, which includes the Jindalee Operational Radar Network. You will also participate in sophisticated experimental field trials to evaluate new technologies and techniques.
You will have a good understanding of RF engineering techniques, as well as digital design and signal processing techniques applicable to radar. You will be able to demonstrate a high level of written and oral communications skills.
Experience in designing, building and testing electronic systems is highly desirable, as is a good understanding of HF radar and ionospheric propagation. Experience with Matlab, C/C++, Python, GPUs & CUDA is desirable, but not essential.
