The Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) is part of Naval Technical Bureau (NTB), is seeking a senior technical who specialises in E3 to join a team of engineers and technical specialists to provide and ensure Royal Australian Navy with the safety to personnel, ordnance, fuel, materiel and environment within the E3 context. To succeed in this role, you will need: Role will include:

  • To lead, plan and deliver critical and very complex technical activities in the E3 discipline, managing the fields of RADHAZ, EMI/EMC and the establishment of databases and computational modelling hardware and software in order to providing high quality products and services to customers.
  • To have excellent communications skills, possess sound decision making and judgement, and work collaboratively with the broader Defence E3 technical support network, maintaining relationships and exploiting opportunities for developing new products and services to customers.
  • To engage stakeholders, plan, lead, develop, integrate, manage and evaluate technical data packages to deliver specific technical advice and recommendations in the E3 discipline.
  • To investigate and expose risks relating to E3 within the lifecycle of maritime materiel, analyse and report on technical issues, requirements, implement recommendations and advice for a variety of projects within the maritime domain.
  • To mentor junior staff at APS6 level providing career development activities such as organising training opportunities, mentoring junior staff and allocating resources in a manner that yields results.

The occupant of this position will have an intimate knowledge of the cells personnel’s strengths and lead teams to deliver results.
