The APS5 Technician Marine role within the Hydrographic SPO is to provide technical marine knowledge and advice, engaging with stakeholders to deliver solutions to technical problems and exercise appropriate technical delegations in line with relevant legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks. They will investigate, report and perform technical marine assessments that support Defence materiel capability life cycle. They are accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex technical marine and sustainment work within an integrated workforce, predominately on small to medium sized Army watercraft.
The APS5 Technician Marine will be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. They will interpret and provide advice within the marine sub-function based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will undertake specialist, technical research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessment and investigations and perform procedural or operational support work to achieve results.
