Systems Engineer - Sonar

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Support development and maintenance Sonar sub-system and product level specifications and architectural models.
  • Support ongoing assessment to confirm that all requirements describing Subsystems, CIs, assemblies and components are compatible with architectural models and for actively participating in any applicable change processes.
  • Support integration of requirements deriving from specialty engineering into the Sonar sub-system.
  • Oversee requirements analysis processes and techniques with a focus on the Sonar sub-system and associated products.
  • Oversee functional analysis processes and techniques for the derivation of requirements with a focus on the Sonar sub-system and associated products.
  • Oversee review and approval of vendor specifications and design data.
  • Oversee the provision of vendor guidance and support as they evolve their design.
  • Support the resolution of all cross-IPT requirements issues.
  • Contribute to domain expertise to the Sonar IPT as well as the larger technical engineering community.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), within LM and our design partners, as required, to support subsystem activities and reviews.
  • Oversee identification and document key system interfaces in support of interface management.

About you:

Essential
  • Significant domain knowledge of Sonar systems.
  • Significant experience in the design, development, integration, test and support of large-scale military systems.

Desirable
  • Substantial experience in requirements engineering, the derivation of requirements and their verification and acceptance concepts.
  • Significant experience in the usage of the DOORS requirements management tool.
  • Limited experience with Model Based Systems Development (MBSD); UML and or SysML.
  • Limited experience with the Windchill Configuration Management tool

Special Requirements:
Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold a current or re-instatable NV1 Defence Security Clearance or be eligible to gain this.
