About the Role An opportunity exists for a Systems Engineer within our Advisory business, based in CanberraIn our Advisory Services division, everything starts with a problem that needs a solution. We act as an independent, technical partner for customers looking to procure defined services and develop specific capabilities. We help them diagnose, rationalise and solve intractable problems by providing analysis, advice and assurance, enabling our customers to make sound decisions about cost, time and performance. The project is to support the Royal Australian Navy, as they integrate a New Generation Maritime Communications System. Your role will be to assist in the review of Contract Data Requirement Lists, whilst achieving; Mission System Acceptance, ongoing Ship Acceptance activities, Ship Installation activities and assist with ongoing engineering change proposals and other engineering tasks. As Systems Engineer you will be responsible for:Perform critical and complex engineering activities and provide advice in the field of System Engineering;Conduct reviews and assessments on the quality and suitability of a range of project deliverables including the project Objective Quality Evidence documentationProvide assistance to project Verification and Validation activities, including scoping, planning, reviewing, provide recommendations and contribute to the system acceptance;Apply Engineering knowledge and experience to identify risks and uncertainties and manage them accordingly in system product life cycle as the project progress;Conduct engineering activities in accordance with CASG engineering policies;Tailor communication style and language to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders;Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, actively participate in team work and motivate and mentor developing engineers;Evaluate that the delivered materiel meets requirements, policies, legislative and Seaworthiness framework, provide recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions;To be successful for the role of Systems Engineer you will require:Engineering Degree related to field of expertiseIdeally have experience in MaritimePrevious Defence experience highly regardedNV1 Security clearanceLife at QinetiQ Our people and our culture make QinetiQ a great place to work, we value integrity, collaboration and performance.
