The Role

As a Systems Engineer within ISREW-M SPO, you will:

  • contribute to the development of the system engineering deliverables for a range of products, including the continual technology enhancement of Electronic Warfare capabilities;
  • develop engineering documentation including technology demonstration plans, test plans and trial reports engineering change documentation;
  • contribute to the integration of Electronic Warfare capabilities on surface and sub-surface maritime platforms through design development and installation activities;
  • review contractor deliverables;
  • collaborate with both above and below the line contractors to achieve engineering outcomes; and
  • work within the Seaworthiness Engineering Framework.

About our Team

ISREW-Maritime SPO is responsible for the delivery and sustainment of Electronic Warfare systems on both maritime and joint platforms. This role will be matrixed across the SPO but will sit primarily within the Sensors Acquisition Business Unit. This team is responsible for the delivery of a range of technologically sophisticated sensor systems for Royal Australian Navy (RAN) ships and submarines. The capabilities are reliant on rapid technology insertion to maintain advantage over the threat.

  • skills and experience in Systems Engineering, ideally with exposure to Defence and an interest in Electronic Warfare;
  • an ability to apply effective engineering acumen and accept the diverse perspectives of others in exploring opportunities and solving complex project problems;
  • an ability to contribute within a diverse team environment to achieve technically challenging Defence outcomes;
  • high quality communication (verbal and written) and stakeholder engagement skills; and
  • enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards learning and growing within the Electronic Warfare domain.
