About the role

As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of an inclusive Systems Integration team focused on success of new multidiscipline complex projects within Software, Systems and Avionics and modifications or upgrades to our airborne platforms such as Airbus ARH Tiger or MRH Taipan. Reporting to the Deputy Manager Systems, Software and Avionics you act as a focal point for new work sources and projects which will include:

  • Assessing project feasibility and establishing project scope ensuring adequate resources and capability are identified and risks are assessed
  • Supporting offer development, requirements capture and architecture
  • Holding technical responsibilities at a system level to analyse new offers and elaborate impact on aircraft architectures which would extend to demonstrating performance and compliance of the systems
  • For new projects you will support Design Delivery and be responsible for the capture and elaboration of these requirements and translation of these requirements into an appropriate architecture changes.

About you

To be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to work in a team environment, have well developed relationship skills as well as good verbal and written skills. You will need to be someone who is able to work autonomously and to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment.

The ideal candidate would have a combination of the following.

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Avionics, Electronics or compatible discipline
  • Solid experience within a highly-regulated industry and a good understanding of system safety, compliance and certification
  • Excellent knowledge of the system engineering lifecycle and processes appropriate to delivering complex capability
  • A good understanding of system requirements capture and management including allocation and traceability.
  • Expert knowledge in hardware, software or avionics with a good understanding of the other areas
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring, Electromagnetic Interference (EMI/EMC) and Environmental Qualification applicable to transport or critical systems would be especially valued.
  • Experience of system validation and verification from a functional performance and compliance perspective.
