As we continue to be successful and grow our operations in Australia and New Zealand, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Structural/Civil Draftsperson to join our Darwin group.  You will have the opportunity to work on some headline projects with a great mix of highly-talented, experienced engineers. 

Responsibilities

  • Developing and producing accurate 3D models and associated 2D drawings per supplied specifications and applicable standards, internal and external, in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Contributing to and maintaining design coordination reviews using both 2D and 3D review methods;
  • Contribute with possible solutions of technical problems and ideally have the capacity to assist in identifying them in the first instance;
  • Communicate effectively with all external (multidisciplinary consultants) and internal (managers, engineers, colleagues etc.), and;
  • Embody enthusiasm to work with a collaborative, national team in a multidisciplinary design setting.

Criteria

  • Advanced/Diploma of Civil Engineering or equivalent/industry experience;
  • 2 to 3+ years of relevant industry experience on Australian structural and civil engineering projects from a selection of sectors, e.g. multi-level residential, commercial, retail, education, industrial, subdivisions, roads;
  • Highly developed skills pertaining to structural and civil drafting, ideally in a consulting engineering environment;
  • Proven structural and civil drafting across various areas, e.g. concrete, steel, masonry, timber, reinforcement and post tensioning, earthworks, pavement levels around/adjacent to buildings, as well as stormwater, basement and subsurface drainage;
  • Proficiency with relevant software packages, i.e. Revit, AutoCAD etc.;
  • Familiarity working with relevant Standards and Codes (AS/NZS, NCC etc.);
  • A track record of effectively handling competing priorities, prioritising work and meet tight deadlines;
  • Capacity to effective liaise and coordinate with all internal/external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment, and;
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
