Job Summary
AECOM's Sydney office is looking for a motivated Building Structures Engineer to join our Buildings and Places end Market Across NSW + ACT. You will be working on some of the most challenging and exciting projects around the country with world-leading technical experts. Projects you could be working on could include high-rise commercial towers both in Australia and overseas as well as multi-disciplinary, large scale Defence and Infrastructure projects. Working with a team of experts, this role will give you the opportunity to further develop your engineering management and design skills. You will work with several internal and external clients and will be involved in key stakeholder engagement processes, contributing to the growth of our business and continuous improvement in our value-add to design services.
The role of Structural Engineer is ideal for an intermediate engineer who enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary environment, with engineers, drafters and designers at varying levels of experience. Working in a multi-disciplinary environment, you will collaborate with teams across business lines and technical disciplines, working with great mentors who will be able to coach you in your career.

Minimum Requirements
  • Prior experience in related engineering background
  • Technical competence in the field, in particular design of tall towers for wind and seismic loads.
  • Knowledge, competency and local experience in building structural design and preparation of design schemes, models and calculations.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Etabs, Strand, RAPT and Spacegass
  • Demonstrated skills in managing projects (or components of) and budgets to meet time and resource requirements.
  • Knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo and parametric modeling will be viewed favourably.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
