The Node Site Lead is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the two Darwin sites and the delegation of tasks to ensure maximum site availability. You will also support the maintenance and repair of the Transmit and Receive systems including, of HF transmitters, receivers, antennas, IT and Data communications equipment as well as a host of ancillary communications equipment. As the onsite SME you will be relied on for your sound judgment and your leadership, and technical experience.

Experience/Qualifications 

  • Proven experience and qualifications in IT, Electronics and/or Radio Communications
  • Experience in support and maintenance of large scale HF Communications systems
  • Ability to effectively lead a small technical team
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience in using Technical Manuals/publications
  • An in-depth understanding of and experience in Technical Administration
  • Ability and knowledge to follow processes and procedures
  • Availability to work extended hours and weekends during peak periods and be on call as required is essential
  • Must hold a current driver's license
  • An understanding of Maximo would be an advantage.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.

Security Clearance

You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a Government security clearance (TS PV). Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and MUST have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time.
