About North Western Program Alliance
North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) consists of three Alliance partners - John Holland, KBR and MTM and the client (LXRP), working together as one team to achieve shared goals. NWPA has a proven track record with the successful delivery of four level crossing removal projects, several premium stations, three projects currently in delivery and two in development phase. We currently have opportunities available on Projects in delivery and development, based in Melbourne's north-west. We are looking to speak with experienced Site Engineers (Civil/Structures/Stations) to join the Alliance in early 2022.

About the Role
Whilst you will be initially based on the North Western Program Alliance, this is a long-term career opportunity with John Holland.
As a Site Engineer, you will provide on-site engineering services and technical support to ensure short-term planning and programming of works is completed, in conjunction with the site supervision staff. You may be involved with quality, completions and work closures, as well as supporting team management of Cadets.
Responsibilities of the role include;
• Ensure compliance of the works with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards and JHG SQE Risk Management process • Conduct and administer overall job planning and programming including short range and intermediate activities for construction projects for approval by the Project Manager • Input information and undertake minor design on site and monitor and recommend changes to design details to increase the ease of construction • Exercise professional judgement in resolving engineering issues, i.e. construction methods, design, engineering procedures, etc. • Demonstrate financial management skills including demonstrated behaviour in reducing costs and meeting budgets • Verify subcontractors' claims and variations • Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Site Manager • Maintain drawing register controls for the project • Implement and communicate risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects • Demonstrate skills in reporting on project performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformance • Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes • Demonstrate people management skills by being able to manage work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes • Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures
To be successful in this role, you will have;
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent • More than 3 years' post graduate engineering experience with 1+ years site based preferred • Construction management and specific technical skills base relevant to program of work and discipline area • Wide level of planning, development and review of complex projects • Implementation of a process and/or product system of audits and schedules • Skill in use of document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance and procedures • Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects • Advanced skills in relevant computer software packages; Microsoft Suite; Primavera 6 etc • Written, verbal and presentation skills e.g. facilitating meetings, pre starts and tool box meetings and basic cost control skills • Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management • Effective time management skills • You need to be able to meet any requirements which are necessary to safely perform your role (e.g. receiving a COVID-19 vaccination pursuant to a relevant health order or by clients, or as otherwise required)
