The opportunity

This purpose of this position is to ensure that City West Water has systems in place to manage sewage quality risks that delivers exceptional services to our customers and benefits the community. This will be achieved through leading, monitoring and continuously improving the performance of City West Water’s certified integrated sewage quality management system (ISQMS).  A key function of this role is to actively represent City West Water on the Melbourne metropolitan wide integrated sewage quality management group.

Reporting to the Product Quality Team Leader, the role has scope to shape the continual improvement of City West Water’s sewage quality management approach by:

  • maintaining and improving linkages across the business to ensure that all end-point sewage quality risks are well monitored and managed and the ISQMS is embraced across the business
  • ensuring City West Water is able to leverage new approaches and technology in sewage quality management through collaboration across the business and the industry
  • identifying emerging risks and undertaking risk assessments that contribute to customer value and outcomes
  • maintaining certification of the ISQMS to ISO22000 standard
  • representing City West Water on the Sewage Quality Management Group, and actively contributing to programs and supporting and leading projects in that forum.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Relevant water industry or trade waste experience
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to form and maintain stakeholder relationships and negotiate effectively both internally and externally
  • Strong program and project management skills
  • Well-developed analytical, research and conceptual skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in chemistry, applied science or chemical/environmental engineering

Whilst not essential, a Certificate in Food Safety Management System (ISO2200 or HACCP) will be looked upon favourably
