About us

Based in Melbourne’s CBD fringe, City West Water (CWW) provides world-class clean drinking water and sewerage services to over one million customers and 40,000 businesses in Melbourne’s CBD and the growing western suburbs.

We are proud to serve the city that has been awarded world’s most liveable time and time again, and are working hard to support our customers through the challenges of population growth and a changing climate.

We are creating an organisation that is as vibrant and diverse as the community we serve, as we recognise that our people are our greatest asset.

About the role

Working as part of the senior leadership team, the position plays a crucial role in transforming City West Water’s services from asset centric to customer centric by ensuring customer expectations drive all asset management decisions.

Responsible for leading the cross business approach to maximising the value obtained from our $1.6 billion infrastructure asset portfolio, the position drives service innovation, enhances liveability and contributes to community wellbeing.

Critically, the role ensures that City West Water is delivering services (water and sewerage) that are safe, reliable and affordable now and into the future.  By applying leading asset management thinking and the concepts of integrated planning, the role considers all options and makes decisions on the best way to deliver services into the future.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Advanced skills in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Proven ability to retain, recruit and develop a diverse and capable workforce
  • Significant experience in advanced asset planning approaches that improve value to customers
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Planning or equivalent work experience.

What we offer in return:

  • Flexible working arrangements, including Work Life Balance and leave options
  • A focus on wellbeing (health insurance, flu vaccinations, skin checks)
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program
  • 14 weeks paid Parental Leave
  • Salary Continuance and Life Insurance
  • Commuter Club-discounted Myki
  • A mentorship program
  • Access to LinkedIn learning.

We have an inclusive working environment with employees from a variety of backgrounds. We acknowledge that diversity at City West Water increases the effectiveness of teams and our capacity for innovation. We welcome applications from Indigenous people, workers of all ages, people with disabilities, people who identify as LGBTIQ and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

If you have any support or access requirements, we encourage you to advise us at the time of the application so we can assist you through the recruitment process.
