Are you a Structural Engineer with a desire to lead a team and provide technical expertise in cold-formed steel design? We are keen to hear from you.

We have an opportunity for the right person as our principal engineer is retiring and we are looking for someone to take his place. He leaves a great void in the areas of cold-formed steel design, training, certifying jobs from across Australia and much more. The right candidate will have a depth of experience in cold-formed steel engineering design that will be well utilised. Our company has no shortage of work and is steadily growing. We are an engineering firm based in SA. We have a regular stream of work from a well-established and growing client base with work coming from all over Australia and occasionally from New Zealand and beyond. We predominantly service the shed, patio and pergola industries, with a stream of work coming in cold-rolled, hot-rolled and timber residential and commercial structures.  We'd like to hear from people with suitable backgrounds and experience in the structural analysis and design of cold-formed structures.


  • Checking Designs - Structural and civil design
  • Cyclonic design - Structural design of buildings located in design region C
  • Structural analysis and design - Numerous small to medium sized residential and industrial buildings
  • Liaise with other engineers, builders and project managers as required
  • Prepare design calculations, drawings and specifications
  • Assist in the mentoring and technical leadership of the structural engineering team


  • At least 10 years experience as a structural engineer in Australia
  • Experience in residential and commercial projects in Australia
  • CPEng and Building Practitioner registration for each Australian state (or the will to gain these registrations)
  • Able to manage designs and projects autonomously
  • Experience with Mutiframe, Limcon, Excel or other structural software will be advantageous
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge of structural design and analysis of steel design, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry buildings
  • An understanding of Australian Standards and the National Construction Code/Building Code of Australia

This is a full time position based in our South Australian office (Wayville).  Although not preferred, we are open to the location being flexible for the right candidate.
