Since establishing a presence in Australia in 2002, ACCIONA has made significant investments in local opportunities and project development. ACCIONA employs more than 3,000 people in its renewable energy, infrastructure, and water projects across Australia & New Zealand.
The Senior Project Engineer (SPE) reports to the Manager, Construction; Shepparton Corridor Upgrade Project and is responsible for the planning, execution and
closing of a project. The SPE ensures that contractual profitability and obligations are met and maintained. Furthermore, you will work with all relevant teams to
manage internal and external resources and deliver the objectives of the project, on time and on budget.
During the construction of the works, the SPE is also responsible for providing technical, administrative and (Health &) Safety, Environmental, Quality &
Sustainability (HSEQS) support to the Supervisors, either providing it yourself or delegating the responsibility to a direct-rreporting Project/Site Engineer. These
relationships require constant interaction and liasing.
Whilst there are a number of people responsible for the actual construction of the works, a key requirement for you is to be able to accurately report on how your
projects are running (i.e. cost, time, scope and quality) at all times, requiring you to know and understand your daily costs.
The SPE has a mentoring role with the group's younger Engineers, requiring you to develop such relationships and provide guidance, motivation, emotional support,
and role modelling as required.

Job Description
Due to continued growth and an additional package of works being awarded we are looking for a Senior Project Engineer with rail experience to join an established delivery team working on The Shepparton Rail Corridor upgrades. Coleman Rail are specialists in rail infrastructure projects across both regional and metropolitan Australia. We have seen major successes in removing level crossings in the south of Melbourne, as well as playing an integral part in regional rail development in WA and SA.

The Project
Funded by the Victorian Government, and part of Victoria's 'Big Build' the Shepparton Line Upgrade is one of the longest continuous railway line upgrade projects in Victoria. It will deliver more frequent services and allow modern VLocity trains to travel to and from Shepparton for the first time. The $356 million Shepparton Line Upgrade will be delivered in three stages.
After a successful completion of stage 1, where stabling works were completed, and construction sites set up the project was delivered on time ready for the next stage.
Stage 2 works include a new stabling facility north of Shepparton Station and platform extensions at Mooroopna, Murchison East and Nagambie stations for the longer VLocity trains, as well as a crossing loop extension at Murchison East to give trains more room to pass each other in this section. Train detection technology will be upgraded at 59 level crossings between Donnybrook and Shepparton to feature boom gates, bells and flashing lights to improve safety for train passengers and road users to allow VLocity trains to travel on the line for the first time.
