Our Adelaide team are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our collaborative and diverse team. This is a great opportunity to work on some of the nation’s most significant projects and build a solid foundation for continues career development.  You’ll be working alongside talented individuals in a supportive team environment.  

To excel in this role, we are looking for an individual with experience in industrial mechanical engineering, someone that is confident in their ability to technically deliver on major projects whilst supporting junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare specifications for mechanical equipment including equipment sizing and material selection
  • Execute design, specification, selection and services related to mechanical equipment such as rotating machinery, pressure vessels, tanks, pump and piping systems, cranes, and utility equipment.
  • Evaluate and pursue opportunities that fit with KBR’s strategies and priorities
  • Understanding of Australian Standards, Regulations, KBR engineering and management procedures, or client procedures if applicable, and established industry practices.
  • Understand controllable costs and take action to positively impact budgets
  • Work within and support a multi-disciplinary team
  • Mentor and support junior engineers
  • Prepare and deliver presentations
  • Adopt KBR’s Zero Harm safety policy

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent
  • 7-15 years of relevant experience
  • Certification as a Registered/Chartered Professional Engineer is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Exposure to industrial, Oil & Gas and/or water projects will be advantageous
