About Your Role

The role reports into the Acoustics Centre of Excellence Production Manager which sits within the Underwater Systems Business Line Operations Team, which is part of the Thales Australia Maritime Business Unit.

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for maximising customer satisfaction through the implementation of new manufacturing processes, jigs, tools and machinery which meets Thales exacting quality and health and safety standards plus enables the manufacture of products to achieve challenging cost and delivery targets.

About You

  • 5 years’ experience in the design and implementation of manufacturing processes, jigs, tools and machinery for high quality electro-mechanical assemblies with a medium level production rate of up to 50,000 units per year.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing, process, mechanical or mechatronics engineering.
  • Sound skills, knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, automation, manufacturing process, jig and tool design and Continuous Improvement.
  • Excellent communicator, written and verbal, with good inter-personal skills.
  • Able to cope with change and respond in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge and experience of Six sigma process control
