The Opportunity
Due to opportunities within the business, the Mining and Energy team is looking to expand within the Adelaide office. As a Senior HV Electrical Engineer, you will provide HV electrical engineering input to multi-disciplined projects, as well as leadership support including the project management of small-to-medium sized projects and mentoring of junior staff.
The Mining and Energy Electrical Team supports a wide range of projects across the mining, water infrastructure, transmission/distribution, renewables (wind and solar) and emerging energy such as Hydrogen.

What you'll do:
  • Lead Electrical design packages on a range of projects in the mining infrastructure and utility power sector
  • Build relationships with key clients through proactive responsiveness and a positive attitude.
  • Ensure project plans are developed and implemented in accordance with designs and specifications
  • Scoping and packaging work to design teams nationally
  • Review and improve existing designs, as appropriate by working closely with our clients
  • Carry out the HV (primary) design of transmission/distribution substations including layouts, switchboard ratings, cable sizing.
  • Develop specifications at the project and equipment level.
  • Utilise your working knowledge of power system protection and SCADA systems (preferred but not essential).
  • Prepare proposals and contribute to business development.

What we'll love about you:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Electrical/Electronic Engineering) or equivalent. Chartered Professional Engineer or eligible to become chartered.
  • Typically, 8-15 years' post-graduate experience.
  • Experience in HV and LV electrical engineering from conceptual to detailed design across renewable power, traction power, water/wastewater, and other industries.
  • Experience in client-facing roles, ability to provide robust advice and support design projects through clear communication of project status, issues and risks.
  • Adaptive to varying size of projects with the intuition to chase opportunities
