Working with the Manager - Geotechnics and the broader Perth Geotechnical team, this position will see you involved in the following activities:

  • Geotechnical design for large scale transport infrastructure projects, including upcoming D&C and Alliance project opportunities
  • Completing geotechnical analysis of complex foundations, retaining structures, mine processing infrastructure and marine structures using industry standard software and boutique spreadsheet solutions
  • Carrying out assessments of tailings liquefaction (both static and dynamic) and tailing embankment stability and deformation
  • Leading and contributing to the preparation of proposals and bids for projects
  • Coordinating the work of a design teams and mentoring less experienced team members

What you will bring to the team

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years experience in a similar role;
  • Degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering;
  • Post graduate qualifications, preferably to doctorate level, with an emphasis on finite element analysis, soil/structure interaction;
  • Demonstrated experience with numerical modelling software, particularly Plaxis (2D & 3D) and FLAC;
  • Deep understanding of soil 
  • Ability to manage several jobs at once and determine priorities
  • Ability to work independently and in a small team;
  • Robust written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
  • An interest in coaching and mentoring to technically strengthen the team capabilities
