About the Opportunity

In this role you will work within the engineering design or sustainment teams to implement a systems oriented, integrated approach for building security into our Products. This role offers a development opportunity for the right individual as it will be supported by Senior Systems Security Engineering professionals.

In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:

  • Liaise with the Engineering Teams to ensure the delivery of secure-by-design engineering outcomes at all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Develop security related documentation used by the program in support of security certification and accreditation requirements as required by the CoA certification authority.
  • Identify, analyse and mitigate risks, in particular cyber security related risks.
  • Support the delivery of the security program.
  • Participate in security workshops with the customer.
  • Provide support to the sustainment information security capability in the areas of risk assessment, software and technology approvals and incident response.
  • Support maturity measurement of systems against the security standards.

About you

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

  • Good knowledge of overall engineering development lifecycle. 
  • Good knowledge of cyber-physical and embedded systems. 
  • Ability to interpret and translate requirements into solution design and operational actions. 
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute and work in a cross-function team while ensuring specific responsibilities are achieved. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different stakeholders. 
  • A high level of self-motivation, time management and organisational ability. 
  • Practical knowledge in performing information and cyber security risk assessments would be an advantage. 

Experience with or knowledge of at least one of the following areas is also essential:

  • Knowledge of commonly used Australian and Industry security standards and accreditation frameworks. (eg. PSPF, DSPF, ISM, ISO 270001/2, NIST, HB167-20006, RMF, OWASP, CIS)
  • Knowledge of industry products, tools and technologies for incorporation into technical solutions to achieve security outcomes.
  • Good knowledge of ICT vendors' technologies such as Microsoft, Cisco, RedHat.
  • Practical knowledge in performing information and cyber security risk assessments would be an advantage.

As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV2 Defence security clearance.
