The Organisation:
Within the Department of Defence, the Joint Systems Division acquires and provides through-life support to a range of command and control systems, communications, satellites and tactical interoperability systems, airspace surveillance and control systems, and electronic warfare systems. This Division also acquires and supports all of Defence’s guided and non-guided weapons.
The Division is functionally arranged in five separate but interlinked Branches with a geographic presence in all of the Australian mainland states and territories and with a small headquarters element in Canberra. The Division’s prime and over-riding focus is to provide the best possible support to the ADF employing the materiel provided in protecting Australia’s interests.
JSD is responsible to the Service Chiefs, the Vice Chief of the Defence Force, Deputy Secretary Strategic Policy and Intelligence and the Chief Information Officer for delivery of acquisition and sustainment outcomes.
This division manages over 100 major projects and 29 product schedules across the Defence portfolio. Including the SEA01397PH6 – Enhanced Nulka, an exciting project which will enhance the capability of the Nulka active missile decoy to protect the Royal Australian Navy against emerging threats and SEA05011 – Maritime Electromagnetic Manoeuvre Warfare is a significant program that will integrate a suite of extant and new electronic warfare systems across various Royal Australian Navy platforms introducing a new discipline of Naval Warfare.

This role presents a unique opportunity to join a program early in its lifecycle enabling the successful candidate the ability to influence and shape the logistics outcomes of the project. This role will report to the Engineering Director supporting a variety of engineering activities, including participation and involvement on trials.
SEA05011 – Maritime Electromagnetic Manoeuvre Warfare is a significant project which will integrate electronic warfare capabilities across various RAN platforms introducing a new discipline of Naval Warfare. The growth prospects of this project are substantial with the project featuring an incremental approach to capability development and delivery with the completion timeframe extending out to 2050+.

The successful candidate may be required to travel interstate and overseas.
