Mineral sands customers are increasingly seeking feedstocks of high grade and quality. For both zircon and titanium dioxide, that high grade and quality has long been a defining characteristic of Iluka's portfolio. To meet market demand Iluka is restarting its second kiln at its North Capel Operations and is seeking to expand its operations team in the Southwest to support the restart. About The Role
An exciting opportunity currently exists for an experienced Reliability Mechanical Engineer to join the dynamic Southwest Operations Team on a full-time basis. The role is targeting a candidate with the capability to progress into a leadership role within Iluka.
The Reliability Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and guidance to the North Capel Operations, to ensure daily production, quality, and safety outcomes are delivered.
Reporting to the Reliability Superintendent, the core responsibilities of the role include:
• Managing the collection and analysis of downtime data from the plants within South West Operations.
• Increasing production capacity by systematically addressing and alleviating plant bottlenecks.
• Minimising production downtime by investigating failure events and taking actions to prevent recurrence.
• Maximising the profitability of the operations by optimising high-cost maintenance processes.
• Enhancing performance by providing strong and clear leadership and mentoring of maintenance and production staff.
• Overseeing maintenance strategy development and other critical processes as directed.
• Providing support to the maintenance departments from day to day running of the operation to longer term planning.

About You
To be successful for this role, you will have:
• High standards of behaviour that align with Iluka's values.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Technical competency in mineral sands processing operations is desired.
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated pro-active approach to safety and innovation.
• Involvement in commissioning of projects will be highly regarded.

This position is residential in the Southwest working a Monday to Friday, standard 40 hour week.
