About the team

The Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) team works as part of the Support Engineering function within AAP, providing support to the business for the estimation, prevention and management of life-cycle engineering uncertainty and item reliability risk through investigation, data analysis and reporting. The RAM team is responsible for the execution, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Reliability Program in compliance with the Defence Aviation Safety Requirements (DASR).

We have recently transformed our business model and as such are looking to grow our current RAM team.  

About the role

As a RAM Engineer you will be working in a team environment to provide subject matter expertise on RAM matters and produce a series of products and services in accordance with the defined Reliability Program. This would include:

  • Providing reliability products based on data from multiple sources in support of Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) analysis, Logistics and Cost modelling
  • Ensuring the maintenance regime is effective, and that each task has the correct periodicity in compliance with Defence Aviation Safety Requirements (DASR)
  • Monitoring, identifying and prioritising reliability, availability maintainability issues
  • Continually improving the reliability program through process reviews using LEAN principles
  • Building strong relationships internally and externally
  • Developing systems for the storage and communication of RAM information across the Programs
  • Analysing performance of reliability and developing tools to support optimisation opportunities

About you

To be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to work in a team environment, have well developed relationship skills as well as good verbal and written skills. You will need to be someone who is able to work autonomously and to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment. The skills and experience best suited to this role:

  • Experience in the application of reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) within an Integrated Logistics Service (ILS) environment
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in working in a reliability engineering role would be a distinct advantage as would prior knowledge of DASR
  • Demonstrated high level of communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Sufficient technical vocabulary to allow correct interpretation and processing of technical information
