About the opportunity
Our Transport group employs more than 8,000 professionals who support clients with innovative solutions to efficiently move people and goods across the globe. We focus our efforts in Transit & Rail, Aviation, Bridge, Highway, Ports & Maritime, Planning Services and Tunnels.
Due to recent project successes and a strong project pipeline within our Melbourne Transport team, we currently have interest in recruiting Experienced to Senior/Associate level Signaling Engineers to join our Rail team.  Working with a dedicated team, you will gain exposure to a wide range of projects and work with a highly experienced and dedicated team on some of Melbourne’s most sought-after transport projects.
Specifically, your duties will include:

  • Signal Design and Technical input for major rail and level crossing removal projects 
  • Checking of signalling designs for projects of all levels
  • Testing of signalling systems
  • Preparation of technical reports
  • Production of tender documents
  • Liaison with clients and contractors 

About you
You should possess/be experienced in:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (electrical / electronic / computing, etc)
  • Preference for candidates with 5 to 15 years work experience
  • Signalling design and T&C – MTM competencies
  • Delivery of Rail projects in D&C and/or Alliance arrangements
  • Circuit Design for Relay and Computer Based Interlocking design
  • Working knowledge of the ARO standards
  • Multi-disciplinary interfaces with Signaling systems.
  • Technical standards for design, construction and maintenance
  • Working knowledge of the VRIOGS standards
  • Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD
  • Membership of the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (Preferred)
  • Ability to manage your time effectively to ensure commercial deadlines are met
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders 
  • A commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Computer Based Interlocking design
  • Strong working knowledge of the ARO standards
  • Strong understanding of the multi-disciplinary interfaces with Signaling systems.
  • Strong understanding of technical standards for design, construction and maintenance
  • Working knowledge of the Victorian Rail Industry environment, relevant industry, particularly working in ANZ regions.
