The AECOM Project and Construction Management team has a long-term pipeline of projects across Queensland in large Road Infrastructure, Major Flood Recovery Program and a variety of complex civil infrastructure programs and projects. This project pipeline has opened up a variety of Project Management opportunities available on a Contract, Fixed Term or Permanent basis, depending on applicant preference.

Our projects will involve you in many industry sectors such as major Infrastructure, Defence, Aviation, Energy & Resources, Mining, Education and Healthcare.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to work with our key clients and represent our successful Construction Services brand in major water and road infrastructure delivery throughout Queensland.

The Role

The role of Project Manager in Townsville works closely with our clients in Federal and State Government and involves the successful delivery of civil infrastructure projects throughout Queensland.

This role will allow a suitable Project Manager to work as a key advisor to State Government and be capable of integrating client requirements into project deliverables through strong contract administration and stakeholder engagement.

This is a broad Project Management role encompassing all stages of the project lifecycle, although due to project stages likely to focus more across delivery and construction phase, therefore a strong understanding of TMR stakeholders, standards and guidelines would be highly desirable.

Minimum Requirements

The position of Project Manager will suit a proven client-side Project Manager who is capable of working across a complex Federal and State Government Flood Recovery program and operate as a key point of contact to integrate program delivery.

The Project Manager will work as the Client Representative and assist in leading, advising and guiding multiple stakeholders across project deliverables. Some of our basic requirements are listed as follows;

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar
  • NDRRA experience with the QRA (Queensland Reconstruction Authority).
  • 7 years’ + Project Management experience (or similar) in a civil construction environment
  • Proven ability to deliver civil infrastructure projects on time, to schedule and to client parameters including a good understanding of project management frameworks.
  • Prior exposure to the Flood Recovery Program and the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative, ethical behaviour in a client-facing environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety and understanding of OH&S best practice and obligations.
  • Demonstrated experience working as part of a multidisciplinary project team for State Government or Local Government on complex multimillion-dollar projects with responsibility for outcomes.
  • Experience in developing proposals, contracts and managing sub-contractor agreements in civil infrastructure environments.
  • Develop and maintain project programs, change schedules, scoping documents, risk assessments, management plans, budgets and issues registers.
  • Confident communicator in client-facing environments and an ability to engage successfully across broad and complex stakeholder groups.
  • Strong ability to influence and confidence in negotiation.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior Floor Recovery or Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery program experience.
RPEQ Registered Engineer.
