About the role

Laing O'Rourke is recruiting for a Project Engineer (Track) to join our Rail Operations based in Homebush, NSW.

Laing O’Rourke’s Rail Operations delivers a wide range of services, from track certifications and inspections to new track construction. The team includes a range of experienced multi-skilled track crews who are all certified to deliver minor and major rail works across urban or regional and commuter or freight networks. Rail Operations houses a multidisciplinary team with detailed capability in electrical overhead wiring, substation upgrades, signalling and civil infrastructure work.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead teams during weekend possession work, providing engineering advice to ensure work is completed to relevant standards and as per design
  • You will be responsible for tendering, design management, procurement, planning and delivery of track works
  • Cost tracking and budget reporting as per the project requirements 

About You

  • Experience working in a fast paced environment often delivering multiple jobs concurrently
  • A relevant engineering degree combined with demonstrated experience working with local engineering standards and guidelines to produce a final product
  • Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of Perway systems in design, construction & maintenance applications
  • An absolute safety critical approach to tendering, planning and delivering works.
