About the project
Overseen by managing contractor Laing O'Rourke, the Australia-Singapore Military Training Initiative (ASMTI) Facilities Project is a unique international defence project in the central Queensland region valued in the order of $800M. The ASMTI project will see new facilities and upgraded infrastructure at the Shoalwater Bay Training Area, 80 kilometres north of Rockhampton.

About the role
We are currently seeking a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer to join our team on the ASMTI project near Rockhampton, QLD. This permanent role offers great career prospects with a privately owned tier 1 constructor, and an international engineering enterprise.

Key responsibilities
  • Plan and sequence construction activities.
  • Track, forecast and assess costs.
  • Manage subcontractors.
  • Interface with design management and construction delivery team, whilst always adhering to Laing O'Rourke's safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure package specific quality and completions deliverable are met
  • Technical problem resolution of design details, coordination and interface issues.
  • Participate in safety and environmental documentation review and site inspections
  • Collaboratively work with the direct Laing O'Rourke team, subcontract partners and client stakeholders.

About you
  • Relevant Engineering (Civil or Structural) or Construction Management degree.
  • Contracting background.
  • Strong delivery focus.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Experience in delivering civil packages with Tier 1 Contractors on large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
  • Managing contractor and/or Defence experience would be beneficial.
