Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for almost 70 years. Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is a nation-building renewable energy project that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This pumped-hydro expansion of the Snowy Scheme will link two existing dams, Tantangara and Talbingo, through a 27km underground tunnel and a new underground power station. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and it will underpin the nation's secure and stable transition to a low-carbon emissions future at the lowest cost for consumers
An exciting opportunity has been created for an experienced Project Engineer- Quality, who will be responsible for performing on-site project engineering quality assurance of civil construction work on behalf of the Snowy 2.0 Owners team. This role will provide oversight of contractor activities to ensure that the built product meets contractual requirements and construction works are conducted in a way that meets Snowy Hydro's project objectives.
The role is based onsite at Lobs Hole on a DIDO (drive-in, drive-out) basis, with a FIFO (fly-in, fly-out) option also considered for suitable candidates. Lobs Hole, located in the Kosciuszko National Park, is the primary construction site for the Snowy 2.0 project that is home to two major TBM tunnelling portals and other significant works, including road construction and maintenance, high voltage power reticulation and the management of large quantities of spoil. Associated construction facilities at the Lobs Hole site include supporting plant, equipment, worker accommodation, workshops and project offices.
