Holcim has secured an initial contract to manufacture over 200 L Beams for the Level Crossing Removal Project with the strong likelihood of further orders being placed in the future. This is an exciting time to join an organisation involved with significant infrastructure development in Melbourne and Victoria, to build a sustainable and liveable city.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager you will assist and work with the business unit on technical and practical engineering tasks and project management activities associated with plant improvements, capital projects and production for the Laverton L Beams Project.
Key responsibilities:- Ensure that any projects undertaken have been accomplished within the allowed time, expenditure budgets and result desired result achieved.
- Costs are accurately tracked and controlled.
- Risk management including factory disruption plans well documented.
- Effective relationships are built with customers and suppliers, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Evidence has shown that innovation is present in operational and production activities.
- All modifications and additions to assets have been designed and checked for engineering integrity
- Tenders and quotes for identified projects have been prepared and reviewed on time in accordance with set procedure and protocol
- Agreed project timeframes are met, and production costs in line with estimates
- The relationship with the production managers and supervisors ensures effective organisation and demonstrates results from efficient resource allocation.
- Demonstrate appropriate communications and interpersonal skills (up, down and across the business) and with external stakeholders
Skills & Experience:- Qualification in or a sound understanding of Mechanical or Civil Engineering principles.
- Exposure to precast and prestress concrete or similar building products
- Previous experience in the concrete, civil construction or building industry.
- Experience in prestress or precast or reinforced concrete manufacture
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and report writing skills
Develop relationships with production managers and supervisors and work as an effective team to achieve verifiable production results. - Demonstrate appropriate communications and interpersonal skills (up, down and across the business) and with external stakeholders.
