Job Description
Coleman Rail has a long standing reputation as the leading rail and infrastructure contractor in Australia, providing construction services for major rail and transport infrastructure projects Australia-wide, in 2017 Coleman Rail become part of the ACCIONA group of companies with a presence in more than 40 countries.
As a Project Engineeryou willassistwith the planning, execution and closing of a project. You will provide technical, administrative and HSEQS support to the Project Manager and Supervisors with a key element of the role being the ability to accurately report on how the project is running (i.e. cost, time, scope and quality) at all times.
Working onThe Southern Program Alliance (SPA) would be instrumental in developing your career further, it is one of five alliances responsible for removing 75 of Melbourne's most dangerous and congested level crossings by 2025 as part of Victoria's Big Build transport infrastructure program.

Commencement: ASAP

Conclusion: August 2021 (Possible extension)

Responsibilities:

  • Station Build experience is essential
  • Review the drawings and specifications
  • Obtain permits to work (e.g. Services Permit, Working Platform Permit, other external Permits to Work)
  • Prepare a construction budget, communicating this information (including production targets required to meet budget) clearly and concisely to the Supervisor/s
  • Prepare a staging program that clearly spells out how the works will be constructed, complete with a related construction program
  • Ensure the project delivery team are undertaking a daily pre-start meeting, where job specific task risk assessments are undertaken, culminating with all workers signing on to the pre-start
  • Identify and report non-conforming products and procedures, proposing remediation works where required and agreeing close out with the designer and/or client

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Civil Engineering Degree (or similar)
  • At least 4 years of experience as a project-based engineer in the construction engineering industry, in related disciplines such as rail and associated civil infrastructure
  • Experienced with Stations Build
  • Level Crossing Removal experience highly desirable but not essential
  • Construction Induction Training (CIT/'White Card', formerly a 'Red Card'), obtained via face-to-face training, not online
  • To be eligible to apply your MUST be a Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen
  • Current Driver Licence and your own reliable vehicle.
