The opportunity

BBA is seeking a Program Chief Engineer to join our team. You will provide senior engineering leadership to the Boeing Defence Australia Wakulda Program. The Wakulda System is the premier ground based surveillance and control system operated by the Royal Australian Airforce. The system is entering an exciting period of upgrades and enhancement under a spiral development model.

This role will see you located in either our Brisbane, Adelaide, or Newcastle site.

Responsibilities

  • Final accountability and authority for specification, configuration, design, certification and verification
  • Engineering governance, including regulatory and airworthiness compliance, product safety, security and integrity
  • Senior technical leadership for the program including interfaces to customers and suppliers
  • Delegation and monitoring engineering authority to competent engineering staff.

Experience/Qualifications

To be successful you will have a track record in:

  • Establishing a culture of proactive technical oversight, risk management and rapid issue resolution
  • Prevention of travelled technical risk and ensuring that technical risks and issues are driven rapidly to closure
  • Driving productivity improvements through the use of lean or agile disciplines including sharing best practices and lessons learned
  • Establishing strong technical relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Applicants must be eligible to obtain CPEng and RPEQ.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
