The Role

The AECOM Ground Engineering and Tunnelling Team provides professional services in areas such as aviation, transit, freight rail, highways and bridges, planning, and ports and marine. Our global network of top-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries.

Due to ongoing growth and some exciting project wins, AECOM is seeking a Professional Pavement Engineer to join our Brisbane office. You will deliver a range of specialist consultancy services to various internal and external clients, providing both cost effective and innovative engineering solutions.

The pavement team in the Brisbane office is supported by outstanding pavement engineers throughout Australia and you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the best pavement engineers working in the industry today. The team prides itself on innovation and producing practical and cost-effective designs that provide the client with the best possible value for money solution.

Our portfolio of work includes new pavements (e.g. major highways/motorways, local roads, rural highways, unsealed roads, haul roads, airfield pavements, heavy duty port pavements etc.), rehabilitation designs, geotechnical investigations (scoping and undertaking), material testing and pavement management advisory services. The Brisbane pavement team has an extensive portfolio of projects throughout Australia especially in Regional Queensland and as part of this role you will be given the opportunity to travel to work on a range of assignments across highways, industrial, maritime and airfields.

About You

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering (or similar);
  • Minimum 1+ years’ relevant professional experience preferably within the Pavement/Geotechnical discipline;
  • Experience in or a strong desire to learn about pavement design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven environment
