The Role

As a Professional Engineer within the Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare Land Systems Program Office (ISREW Land SPO), you will have the opportunity to apply your skills to a highly exciting portfolio of work, while working within a multidisciplinary team of project, logistics, engineering and enabling team members.

The Professional Engineer, under limited direction, will provide governance and assurance of the ISREW Land SPO managed Land Materiel over the One Defence Capability Lifecycle. This Land Materiel includes Counter-IED and supporting systems, as well as Tactical Electronic Warfare systems.  These activities will include the development and management of policy to ensure ISREW-L SPO meets its regulatory requirements as an Accredited Engineering Organisation, providing SME for Land Materiel Certification supporting continual process improvement.

The key outcome of this position is to provide critical support to the ISREW Land SPO Principal Engineer, to manage the Technical Integrity of ISREW-L SPO Land Materiel.

The Professional Engineer will possess strong knowledge of technical regulatory frameworks and a demonstrated understanding of the One Defence Capability Lifecycle.

Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance Electronic Warfare (ISREW) Branch, in Joint System Division (JSD) acquires, sustains and integrates electronic warfare capabilities into a wide variety of air, land and sea based platforms and systems.

Our Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Skills and experience in systems engineering within the One Defence Capability Lifecycle.
  • Skills and experience working within Technical Regulatory Frameworks, and the practical management of addressing risk with technical projects and engineering activities.
  • Experience in the development and governance of a Material Safety Management System plan.
  • A strong technical background applicable to electronic warfare and platform integration.
  • Effective problem solving and deductive reasoning skills.
  • The capacity to think strategically and develop plans and processes to enhance the achievement of business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and customer engagement skills.
  • High-level organisational skills, self-drive and initiative with the ability to influence others to achieve tasks and business objectives.
  • Sound commercial and business acumen and a demonstrated understanding of the Defence Industry sector in Australia.
