This is an exciting time to be part of a growth period for our Transport Operations division and for someone seeking a long-term career with a leading Rail Operator where you will collaborate and make an impact within various teams of industry professionals.
UGL Regional Linx (a wholly owned subsidiary of UGL Ltd) has been awarded the contract to Operate and Maintain the NSW Country Regional Network (CRN) for 10 years, commencing in January 2022.

About the role
Reporting to the Principal Track and Civil Engineer, as the Track and Civil Engineer you will play a key role within the Asset & Engineering team and will hold engineering authority for all CRN Track Assets and Operational maintenance standards to ensure all legislative, safety, design, technology, operations, maintenance, sustainability and other all relevant engineering requirements. The delegated engineering authority includes the issue of engineering waivers, review and approval of operational maintenance standards. The role also provides for the review of the asset management plans, configuration and all external third-party requests.
The Track and Civil Engineer will be responsible for assuring the operational engineering standards, manuals and processes aligns with the UGL Regional Linx Safety Management and Asset Management system.

About you
  • Demonstrate and work towards competency requirements of CRN CM 001
  • Degree or Diploma in an Engineering or related discipline.
  • Previous business operational experience within an operations and maintenance /resources industries.
  • Sound understanding of Asset Management and Systems Assurance standards.
  • Experienced in ISO 55001 and decision support tools
  • Demonstrable experience in, and sound understanding of, asset management and / or systems assurance in a multi-disciplined production, manufacturing, maintenance or engineering environment.
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
