Based in Melbourne and reporting to the ANZ Track & Delivery Sector Leader - the Principal Rail Engineer will deliver technically excellent designs and consultancy services as well as drive business development and be responsible for identifying work winning opportunities. As a leader in the transport business you will develop and maintain strong client relationships, act as a trusted advisor to a select group of Jacobs key clients and represent the Rail team at key thought leadership events. You will collaborate closely with Jacobs client management team to identify emerging opportunities with clients and manage projects in both PM and DPE roles delivery on cost, on time, and resulting in client satisfaction.
The role will be instrumental in collaborating with commercial, project management, engineering and design technical leaders to create opportunities for Jacobs to plan, develop, deliver and operate a range of projects. The role will support management of the Rail team, in terms of team development and growth, building design capability and growing the rail portfolio. Key to this role will be the interface with GID delivery centres in order to improve delivery capability to meet targets.
Qualifications
You should be an experienced Australian rail network Track Engineer with local accreditations. Key requirements for the role:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution including Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent overseas professional recognition is essential
  • Experience on major and multidisciplinary rail projects, strong preference for those with front end, D&C or Alliance delivery environments
  • Design skills using software applications such as Microstation, Bentley Rail Track and OpenRail
