Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is seeking to appoint a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Oil & Gas office in Perth Western Australia.

The position will support Wood's Oil & Gas contracts in Australia with involvement in "green field" and "brown field" projects. It is envisaged that this role with have significant development pathways as the Wood organization in Perth WA continues to grow.

Skills / Qualifications

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Australian experience,
  • Oil & Gas industry experience, Ideally Offshore and Onshore sector.
  • Strong engineering experience including industrial power distribution, power generation, equipment specification (i.e. Power Transformers, MV & LV motors and drives, MV & LV switchgear, cabling, etc),
  • Power systems studies using ETAP or SKM experience,
  • Procurement, construction and commissioning experience,
  • Experience in estimating man-hours for electrical engineering and designing work.

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

  • Bachelor degree or better in electrical engineering,
  • Over 15 years of industry experience. 
  • Hazardous area design & inspection competency (EEHA),

In addition, by possessing the following will be assessed favorably:

  • Chartered status from Engineers Australia,
  • Strong communication and computer skills,
  • Ability to perform under minimal supervision.
