With their experience in establishing asset management capability in commensurate organisations, the National Asset Manager will bring together the Bureau's considerable organisational and technical knowledge and develop it in line with industry best practice standards, frameworks, practices and tools. Through a combination of demonstration, influence and persuasion, they will champion the asset management practice, focussing on fit for purpose processes, knowledge sharing and uplift of commercial methods, and generally embed the practice within the Bureau's culture. To assist in this activity, they will build and sustain a small expert team of asset management professionals and provide leadership across the organisation where teams need to contribute to the asset management lifecycle.
This position will be the business owner of the Enterprise Asset Management System and play a significant role in defining the operationalisation and acceptance into service of the system.
Once established, the National Asset Manager will be responsible for the Bureau's asset management practices and standards, including advising the Bureau Executive on replacement and investment plans, sustainment planning, and the long-term strategic management of assets within the organisation. The role co-ordinates, engages, and leads staff across the business to develop sound plans and ensure that the Bureau's assets deliver maximum value to our customers.
