Reporting to a Technical Services Superintendent, you will deliver best practice mining engineering services and support to Capcoal Open Cut Operations, supporting Zero Harm by ensuring compliance with all safety systems and legislation.
You will work with a multi-disciplinary team of Mining Professionals to develop and deliver medium term mining strategies and mine plans incorporating Dragline, Truck & Shovel design and scheduling. You will act as a technical strategist on mine planning and be responsible for delivering technical advice on how to maximise the value of the resource, contributing to the development and implementation of the annual and five year plan.
You will be a tertiary qualified and experienced Mining Engineer with open cut coal mining experience in both mine scheduling and pit design. A background in short term planning with Dragline (essential), Truck & Shovel or Drill & Blast experience would be highly regarded. Ideally you should be a proficient user of Minex software for mine design and XPAC for scheduling purposes. Knowledge of Minescape, Deswik, Spry and sound knowledge of mining economics would be regarded highly. Your strong communication skills and well developed analytical skills will be key to your success in this role.
