About the Opportunity

We are seeking a committed Mechatronics/Electronics Engineer to perform an integral role for the Periscope In-Service Support team.  This rewarding position will be offered on a permanent and full time basis.

Reporting to the Submarine Systems Engineering Manager, the Mechatronics/Electronics works as a contributory member of the Periscope Support Team and is primarily responsible for design, development and fault investigation of Periscope Electro/Mechanical Systems and supporting test equipment.

This opportunity will see you:

  • Support electro-mechanical systems fault investigation on the Periscope system
  • Support the assembly, integration and testing of the Periscope electro-mechanical system and equipment including its configuration management
  • Utilise test tools to undertake test, integration and verification including diagnosing problems and analysing results
  • Support metric collection for the Periscope team
  • Undertake electro-mechanical system and equipment requirements analysis and participate in requirements reviews
  • Develop electro-mechanical system and equipment architectural designs to meet an established set of requirements, including participating in architectural design reviews
  • Undertake typical functional analysis to determine the strengths and weaknesses candidate electro-mechanical system and equipment solutions
  • Undertake the translation of the electro-mechanical system and equipment design into a manufacturable solution and incorporate required changes
  • Utilise design capture and analysis tools effectively to produce high quality designs and products including interpretation of analysis results

About you

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

  • Demonstrated mechatronics or electronics engineering experience
  • A relevant engineering degree satisfying the requirements for membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • A flexible and proactive approach and be driven to improve current processes and solve problems
