About the Role

Upper Hunter Shire Council has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Manager Water & Sewer. Reporting to the Director Infrastructure Services, the role will primarily be responsible for leading, managing and controlling the operation of the Council’s Water & Sewer Division.

You will head up a fantastic, knowledgeable, hardworking team including:  4 direct reports and approximately 18 team members.

You will also be responsible for providing strategic business planning for the development of the Council’s Water and Sewer infrastructure, focusing on ensuring legislative and regulatory compliance, long term financial sustainability for those assets, including planning of maintenance, renewal and upgrade works with your team.

About You

The successful candidate will have a Degree in Engineering with specialist experience in Water and Sewer services, or, equivalent qualifications acceptable for membership to the Institution of Engineers Australia. You will also be a positive, engaged leader who works with your team in a collaborative environment.

 

Your Key Attributes Essential for Success

  • Technical expertise and leadership in all things Water and Sewer
  • Project management experience in Water and Sewer
  • Familiarity with local authority and state government approval and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated treatment plant management experience
  • Understanding of Integrated Water Cycle Management (IWCM)
  • Drought Management Planning knowledge and experience
  • A commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development
