We are seeking to appoint an accomplished Maintenance Manager at our Tasman Mill to provide direct leadership to the maintenance organisation by initiating, influencing and authorising change whilst providing direction for maintenance planning, execution, cost control and day to day maintenance operations.

Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Demonstrate and promote health and safety ensuring engineering OjiFS activities and solutions provide for a safe working environment and are compliant with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Coordinate and manage the mill maintenance programme ensuring a continuous improvement ethic pervades all systems, processes and behaviours driving cost, operational performance and reliability improvement
  • Lead the site maintenance team in providing advice, expertise, strategic direction and management for the delivery of maintenance services and technological support
  • Contribute to the Tasman lead team and the overall performance to achieve cost reductions, risk mitigation, meet production targets, environmental and statutory compliance and to meet the maintenance budget
  • Providing technical support and guidance to colleagues, consultants and business units
  • Providing effective team leadership through coaching, effective communication and developing individuals for future roles

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering. Being CPEng accredited will be an advantage
  • Proven experience in a senior site maintenance or engineering role in a complex manufacturing operation or heavy industry environment is required
  • An expert in best practice maintenance methodologies, systems and processes
  • Sound knowledge and ability to develop and implement competitive/lean manufacturing techniques
  • Pulp and paper experience will be an advantage

The successful candidate will ideally have 10 plus years experience working in a manufacturing or heavy process environment. You will have excellent leadership and communication skills and be able to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels in the organisation. In addition, professionalism, exceptional project planning and problem solving skills and a commitment to delivering excellent results are the key personal attributes we're looking for.
