We are now seeking a Systems Safety Engineer to play a pivotal role within our Maritime product line and DDG Combat System Integrator (CSI) team. As part of the DDG Combat System Integrator project, the System Safety Engineer will contribute to our mission by providing technical solutions to a wide range of challenging and interesting problems to meet the customer capability needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of the system safety program plans to review and assess hazards associated with system design, maintenance and operational use
  • Development of strategies to identify and process system safety hazards
  • Coordination and execution of System Safety Working Groups
  • Work closely with design and systems engineers to track, catalogue and manage the lifecycle status of hazards, causes and mitigations
  • Systems safety support to engineering change activities

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualification in relevant engineering discipline
  • Systems Safety qualification(s)
  • At least 6 years prior relevant experience in Systems Engineering and/or Systems Safety Engineering including planning and leading system safety programs, working groups, preparing safety cases and carrying out hazard identification and analysis tasks
  • Familiarity with Mil-STD-882 and or Def Stan 00-56
  • Ability to work autonomously or with minimal supervision and deliver completed work on schedule
