As part of our infrastructure planning team you will be responsible for the effective and sustainable management of Council’s infrastructure assets, including the design, maintenance and delivery of a number of asset-related services.
You will contribute to the efficient and effective management of Council drainage and road assets. This will be achieved through the timely production of competent and innovative solutions to issues raised by the community in relation to drainage and road engineering infrastructure.

This permanent, full-time position involves:
Undertaking various engineering related projects involving investigation, research, generation and assessment of alternatives and production of reports recommending appropriate courses of action.
Undertaking engineering investigations and problem solving in relation to municipal civil infrastructure including roads, drainage, and related assets.
Receiving, investigating and liaising with members of the community, problem solving to resolve requests relating to roads, drainage, and related assets.
Preparing survey and design briefs to initiate the implementation of works to resolve road, drainage, and related asset issues.
Preparing and peer review of cost estimates and works instructions relating to resolution of issues.
Supervising contractors engaged in construction of works and undertaking general engineering studies and investigations.
Providing support to the wider team to ensure the effective operation and success of the department as a whole.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
A tertiary qualification in civil engineering, or substantial progress towards and several years of work experience.
Experience in design and construction of roadwork, drainage, and associated civil infrastructure.
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to translate technical information into plain English.
Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills.
Ability to work within an allocated budget.
Strong conceptual skills with experience in conducting research, analysing data and synthesising results into tangible plans and outcomes.
Understanding of the legislative requirements relating to construction activities, particularly related to a safety culture.
