Construction Sciences is a national business. Our dynamic team provides Construction Materials Testing, Geotechnical Engineering, Subsurface Utility Engineering and Environmental Services. Our strength is providing prompt turnarounds of large volumes of tests, accurately. We are major project specialists.

Our Geotechnical Engineering team is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer who is looking for a new career challenge to be based at different locations across Australia. 

We currently have opportunities in; 

  • Coffs Harbour , New South Wales
  • Newcastle, New South Wales 
  • Wollongong, New South Wales
  • Townsville, Queensland
  • Perth, Western Australia

You will be part of an expanding and dynamic engineering team that contributions to a growing line of the Construction Sciences business. You will be involved in a range of exciting projects ranging from local council works to major transport infrastructure projects.  

As a valued member of our team, you will have the opportunity to grow and further develop your career with mentoring and guidance from an experienced group of Senior and Principal Engineers. You will have experience in the following areas: 

  • Construction Phase Support including inspections and supervision;
  • Geotechnical Investigations including planning and completing site works and drafting clear and concise geotechnical reports, under supervision;
  • Some experience in project management;
  • Motivated to problem solve and driven to provide proactive geotechnical support to our clients from conception to final delivery.

 In order to be successful for this role you will possess: 

  • Degree level qualifications in the field of geotechnical/ civil/ engineering geology, or similar; 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in geotechnical investigations, site supervision and inspections;
  • Ability to conduct fieldwork unsupervised including management of subcontractors, soil/ rock logging and sampling;  
  • Some exposure to commercially available geotechnical software and interpretation of geotechnical data (desired); 
  • Ability to multitask and work over a broad spectrum of earth science related consultancy fields; 
  • High efficiency and capacity to work unsupervised in the field; 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
  • An ability to work cohesively within a team driven environment. 

A current manual driver’s licence and ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen are essential. 

Construction Sciences offer a competitive salary and will be based on successful applicant’s experience. We have an overtime policy that rewards field-based staff for overtime hours they do onsite.
