The Role
The APS 6 Engineering Transition and Sustainment Support will be required to participate in Transition Management and Sustainment related workshops and meetings.

The role will collaborate with industry to formulate the best outcome for the product rollout including:

  • Reviewing and providing feedback on a number of associated technical documents and suggested strategies;
  • Developing a Commonwealth Transition Plan and other associated documentation;
  • Developing SME knowledge of the Support System and Mission System functional baseline, transition activities and strategies.
  • Developing SME knowledge on the legacy systems that need to be sustained and the new Phase 6 acquisition systems that are to be incorporated.

About our Team
The Wide Area and Space Surveillance Systems Program Office acquires and ensures the availability and performance of highly complex space domain awareness and high frequency radar capabilities for the Royal Australian Air Force, including the world leading Jindalee Over the Horizon Radar.

The recently approved Space Domain Awareness Project (JP9360) will deliver a Space Domain Awareness capability for Defence, which requires assurance of, access to, and interoperability with, the US Space capability.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • An ability to manage competing priorities and internal dependencies with minimal supervision;
  • Engineering knowledge and experience to identify risks and uncertainties and take these in to account in planning, decision making and priority setting;
  • Proven experience in performing critical and complex engineering activities and provide advice in the field of systems engineering under broad direction;
  • An ability to build and sustain positive relationships with a wide range of team members / stakeholder groups and actively participate in team work.
