About the program 

Airbus Australia Pacific is now accepting applications from creative and team oriented Engineers to join our Graduate Program in 2021.

As a Graduate Engineer working at Airbus Australia Pacific, you will utilise your training and experience to help deliver Engineering solutions predominantly for our Military Helicopters – the Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter (ARH) and the Multi-Role Helicopter (MRH90). This is ranging from design work to in-service support, and will give you the opportunity to be exposed to a broad range of interesting tasks and challenging projects, working within a variety of our engineering teams.

As one of our graduate Engineers, you will be offered professional growth through a structured program where you will complete 3 - 4 rotations through different business units (a minimum of 6 months per rotation) across a two year timeframe. Working alongside our Senior Engineers, Team Leads and Subject Matter Experts, you can gain exposure to different areas of the business and different phases of projects and will be able to develop a depth of knowledge in your chosen discipline. This provides a unique on-the-job training experience.

During the graduate program, you can also utilise our internal mentoring scheme and attend courses tailored to help you grow in both technical and soft skills both in person and online. You will also have the opportunity to spend a week in our Deeper Maintenance team as part of your rotation

About the role

To be a successful Graduate Engineer you will need to be able to work in a team environment, have well developed relationship skills as well as good verbal and written skills. You will need to be someone who is able to work autonomously, sometimes to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment. You can anticipate some of your day-to-day activities to include:

  • Developing and managing Engineering design tasks;
  • Performing and managing technical investigation of problems or design changes;
  • Developing engineering advice and authorised maintenance data;
  • Maintaining data files, Engineering records and electronic databases as required to accurately report and record Engineering decisions;
  • Participate in and provide input to management/technical reviews and reports as required;
  • Apply your recent education and training to Airbus applications supporting our continuous improvement culture.

About you

To be eligible for our Graduate Program, we look for the following:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (for example: Software/Systems, Aerospace, Avionics, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical);
  • Less than one year of professional Engineering experience;
  • A keen interest in Aerospace/Aviation and a willingness to learn;
  • The capacity for self-directed task management in a fast paced environment and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Due to the nature of our biggest customer, the Australian Defence Force, you will need to be an Australian Citizen to obtain security clearance
