The opportunity

We are seeking a talented Engineering Execution Lead to lead the Tactical Data Links (TDL) engineering team as a part of the Tactical Information Environment Capability Assurance Service (TIE CAS) contract. The contract provides certification services of TDL including engineering, test and certification reporting to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) TDL Authority (ADFTA). As the Engineering Execution Lead you will apply your technical leadership experience to plan and execute the project technical scope and to engage effectively across the Boeing team, the customer organization/s and industry partners. You will support a range of platforms across the ADF, conducting testing in both a laboratory environment and in the field with operational assets. The role is based in Brisbane with domestic travel as required, however consideration will be given if a suitable candidate is identified in Canberra.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership of a multi-skilled engineering team and oversee the delivery of the Statement of Work within the TIE CAS Contract.
  • Manage multiple stakeholders across various SPOs, operational units and associated ADF contractors on behalf of the Australian Defence Force Tactical Data Link Authority.
  • Lead the delivery of engineering scope against cost, schedule and technical measures.
  • Management across full engineering lifecycle, including engineering estimation, planning, delivery and reporting against the Statement of Work.
  • Lead and manage technical risks across the contract.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7+ years' experience in development, integration and testing of complex ADF systems in support of leading a technical team.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with the customer organization and multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to work effectively within a group environment and with people across all organizational levels.
  • Understanding of project management principles and business management practices.
  • Experience with technical management of aerospace and/or. defence projects is highly regarded.
  • Experience in Data Communication and/or. Tactical Data Links is highly regarded as well as familiarity with Australian Defence Force platforms.
