The Role
Are you are interested in being involved with aircraft, flight trials, and providing specialist aircraft engineering advice? If so, then this is the job for you.
This position offers a wide variety of challenging and rewarding tasks as well as the rare opportunity to be involved in supporting Army, Navy and Air Force flight trials through the Air Warfare Engineering Squadron (AWE SQN).

As one of AWE SQN’s Electronics/Electric technical officers you will work as part of a small team of technical specialists to assist AWE SQN deliver engineering outputs such as:

  • Engineering designs for highly specialised flight test instrumentation.
  • Engineering designs for aircraft stores compatibility flight clearances.
  • Planning and execution of aerospace air and ground verification and validation activities.
  • Technical advice, analysis and recommendations to the broader AWE SQN and Air Force on electrical and electronic aerospace systems.
  • Engineering investigations, reporting of findings and provision of recommendations to engineering management.

About our Team
AWE SQN is a Defence unit operating as a DASA Approved 21J Design Organisation, dedicated to the provision of specialist engineering designs and advice for:

  • Aircraft Instrumentation, and Specialist Aerospace Advice;
  • Specialist Air Weapons and Stores Advice, (including loading, clearance and employment), and integration of AUS/US air weapons programs;
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility and RF Analysis and Advice;
  • Aerodynamic Modelling, Weapon Danger Area and Safety Assessments; and
  • Prototyping and Mechanical / Electrical Manufacture.
